2.15.7

Signal views

  • Starting a mapping while the "add markers" mode was active left the application half-way: the mapping docks opened and the cursor/marker toolbar was greyed out, but no view actually entered mapping mode -- and there was no way back. Mapping now takes over properly and leaves marker mode.

Mapping

  • When the data set (or the BIDS subject) has no FreeSurfer folder, the 3D viewer switches to the template subject -- and only if the montage contains EEG channels, since the template has no MEG sensors. Outside BIDS, starting a mapping no longer opens a FreeSurfer folder chooser.
  • MEG mapping is never sent to the 3D viewer in template mode: the generic helmet preview is not a coregistration, colouring it would be misleading.

Gain levels

  • The +/- buttons of the navigation bar had no effect at all on MEG, GRAD and ICA channels. Fixed.
  • The gain area of the navigation bar has been redesigned: the current gain of the dominant modality is displayed between the - and + buttons, with every modality of the view listed in the tooltip.
  • The Gain Levels window no longer shows an extra, unnamed row. It came from a phantom channel type which also wrote past the end of several fixed-size arrays -- a silent memory corruption, now gone.

Updates

  • The version is now compared before the file hashes for the core libraries: a 2.15.6 installation could be offered the 2.15.5 binaries, which meant downgrading the application.
  • A module requiring a more recent AnyWave is now listed greyed out with the version it needs, instead of being hidden -- or, worse, installed and then unable to load.
  • Plugins can be published and updated on their own, independently of the core libraries.

Head Model Tool

  • Five more digitizer formats in addition to ASA/ANT (.elc): BESA/EGI/SPM (.sfp), BESA spherical (.elp), Polhemus in CTF software format (.pos), raw Polhemus from the FIL (.pol) and BIDS electrodes.tsv.

Command line

  • --skip_bad_channels false had no effect on a plain --run: bad channels stayed excluded whatever the option said.

2.15.6

Distribution

  • New public download site, replacing the request form and the manual sending of packages by e-mail.
  • Community edition for Windows, Linux and macOS: modules under licence or under a third-party agreement are no longer part of the public packages.

Linux

  • Debian package (Ubuntu 22.04) and AppImage, with the MATLAB support module embedded.
  • AnyWave can now update itself on Linux.

macOS

  • Unified Intel + Apple Silicon build, self-updater, GARDEL and the FreeSurfer reconstruction tool ported to the platform.

Misc

  • Single update stream for all editions; the per-licence filtering happens in the application.
  • Fusion style with a common light palette, shared with the standalone tools.
  • The "Setup" menu becomes "Tools" and gathers the launching of the standalone tools; the "About" menu moves to the end of the menu bar.
  • Deltamed, NeuroWorks and Nihon Khoden readers brought back into the main repository.

2.15.5

ICA

  • New ICA dock replacing the old panel: vertical list of components, and the signal view is reordered according to the current sort.
  • Brain-likeness of a component computed from the SVD subspace of the leadfield, with an adjustable threshold in the dock.

Mapping

  • 2D and 3D maps unified: same colour scale computed on raw sensor values, same colorbar title, and iso-contour lines on the 3D helmet.
  • Mapping no longer filters on the montage: every physical sensor is used, bad ones interpolated.
  • Layout selection combo boxes removed -- the layout is detected automatically, with a context menu to override it.
  • MEG helmet rendered matte during mapping, sensor size following the scale of the layout.

Source localization

  • MEG single-shell (Nolte) head model.
  • Goodness-of-fit map interpolated on the 2D MRI slices.

New

  • FACE plugin: event clustering (GFP detection + k-means) on any set of traces, with a graphical interface and a command line mode.
  • Regional source channels, BESA style.
  • New application icon.

2.15.2

New tools and plugins

  • AwEnvSetupWizard: provisioning assistant for WSL2, Docker, FreeSurfer, FastSurfer and Python.
  • Head Model Tool: standalone BEM / leadfield pipeline, replacing the one that was embedded in the 3D viewer.
  • MEG Artifact Detector: detection of suspicious MEG channels.
  • AnyWave DB: database creation, subjects, import of files.

Python venv were not detected at startup.
Now AnyWave will look for python virtual environments in the AnyWave/Plugins/Python/venv folder.
Previously saved python venvs are now automatically detected and used.
Python plugin can now specify the virtual environment to use by adding venv=alias in desc.txt file.
Preferences for Python have been fixed and now correclty handle the options.
User can pick a default virtual environment to use.
If no venv has been specified, AnyWave will use the default python installation on the system.

2.13.9

AnyWave now creates a subfolder in AnyWave/Plugins/Python called venv.
this folder is used to store the python virtual environment used by AnyWave.
Fixed a bug in export wizard about downsampling options:
When setting to a factor of 4 on a factor 2 was applied.
Now donwsampling by 4 is really applied. Spectral plugin:
The plugin was not taking into account the time selection and/or artefact to skip when computing the PSD.
Now it does.
Added a help menu option to directly open the AnyWave documentation in the browser.
Changed the documentation URL to point to the new AnyWave documentation website in About Dialog

2.13.5

Now when saving data to MATLAB format, Epochs are considered.
If you export data based on markers of same duration, the MATLAB file will contain a tensor matrix containing the data.
If epochs differ in duration, a struct array of 1xn epochs will be created and named Epochs. If no markers is used to export data, all the data will be put in data variable.

Now ignore them and let the user set them as bad if they are really bad.

2.10.12

  • Adds:
    MATLAB interface function anywave('get_data', cfg);
The function can now be called without being connected to anywave in a plugin code or in debug mode.
